Taoist Medicine

        As a saying goes, Shi dao jiu yi. It means 9 from 10 Taoists understand medicine, which is reasonably true. Wudang Mountain is an outstanding example.

        Metera Medica is a famous medical book written by Li Shi-zhen who was born in Today's Qichun of Hubei, the same province as where Mt Wudang is located. So The well-known doctor came to this mountain for collection of various herbal medicine. In his such great book, among 400 different species of medicines 180 were found in Wudangshan.

        The Taoists themselves melt Dan in stoves and had it to achieve longevity. During the long course of history, they have come to developed medicine. Let alone the temples are usually located in the deep mountains which make it possible for the easy access to herbal plants.

        WTCC currently recommend Zhu Hua-ying and Jiang Pei to its students from home and abroad. Zhu is an aged Taoist doctor while Jiang is a young doctor who has a combined knowledge of acupuncture, Tui na and massage.
